Welcome to this new bilingual blog, ihearyou.t-oigo.com, the first and only of its kind in the entire blogging universe and newly created by t-oigo.com, the non-for-profit website which makes life easier for Spanish-speaking families with hearing loss, since 2007.  T-oigo.com provides information in Spanish to facilitate all aspects of our lives, from education to technology to emotional needs, professional resources and generally, all that matters most to families with hearing loss.

This blog is designed as part of an overall objective to help students with hearing loss learn English. On t-oigo.com I publish investigations, personal stories, materials and links, as well as organize events, and disseminate news of people and organizations who believe, like I do, that despite having a hearing loss, it is possible and advantageous for childen to learn a second language. All of this information is available in Spanish on t-oigo.com. (Please stop by for a visit!)

Ihearyou.t-oigo is special because it  reflects the experience of what is means to teach English to a Spanish-speaking person with hearing loss. I hope you teachers, students, and families will blog about what you are doing and feeling, the methodology you use, materials and ideas for activities,  progress and failures, and whatever else you can share to make this experience meaningful and better each time.

You are the “MOM” in this blog, the contributor to the MEANS, OPPORTUNITY, AND MOTIVATION necessary to learn a second language. (learn more about  this in the related article in SpanishMeans Opportunity and Motiviation are necessary to learn a second language

So to all you MOMs, please feel free to write comments in English or Spanish and if you care enough to write a blog entry, drop me a line at dale@t-oigo.com with your contribution, and I will happily publish it for all the fans to see.

Hugs, abrazos,

Dale
